Immigration

Airport
The main international airport is Cheddi Jagan International Airport and is located in Timehri, East Bank Demerara, which is approximately 25 miles/45km south of Georgetown, the capital city of Guyana.

Arrival
Only accept pre-arranged drivers from the airport to the hotel. Do not use other means of transportation. The baggage carts are only allowed inside the disembarking area at the airport. If you need to transport extra baggage out of the airport into the parking area, there are official airport porters ’Red Caps’ with baggage carts. They charge approximately GYD 200,00 (USD1.00) per piece. Ensure you confirm the price prior to accepting the service.
Departure
Plan to arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to departure time. There are few options of food at departure gates, except quick snacks, depending on availability. It is advisable to take your own snack at the waiting gates.
