TRANSPORTATION

The use of public transportation including airport taxis should be avoided. Using local public minibuses is not allowed. Visitors should only use the designated SBM Offshore-approved transportation provider, Cyril`s Taxi, or private company drivers provided by SBM Offshore. All arrangements while in Guyana should be made directly through the Logistics Coordinator by using vetted and approved transportation services.

Visitors should always wear seat belts, close taxi windows, and lock doors to mitigate the risk of theft and carjacking, especially in Georgetown. Ride-sharing services such as Uber are not available in Guyana. Drivers must be instructed not to take routes through the no-go zone areas. SBM Offshore now has shared transportation (shuttle bus) available for all expats on Sundays and Holidays from 07:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs.

Please contact Teri O’Brien (+592 608 6541) to arrange accordingly.
